Cloud Mani

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend, mine was okay, I went to Chico to see my papa on Saturday (I also go my first Sierra Nevada shirt – even though I don’t like beer haha). Sunday I didn’t really do much of anything, but it was relaxing so that was good. I don’t have jury duty today (yay!), but I have to check back tonight after 5 to see if I have it tomorrow/later this week. Hopefully I get lucky and don’t have to go (not that I’m doing anything else like working or anything, so it wouldn’t be an inconvenience except for having to drive to downtown Sacramento everyday).

Today’s nails are a cloud mani (it’s really simple and there are a ton of different tutorials for it). I started with a coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy. I topped that with two coats of Zoya – Avery as the base of the design. I used China Glaze – Pink Voltage (Neon), Claire’s Pink Glow in the Dark (on top of the Pink Voltage), and Sally Hansen – Black Out for the cloud part. I topped it with a coat of Orly – In a Snap. That’s it, I’ll be back on Wednesday, have a good day!

My First Zoya Polish – Chyna (PixieDust)

Hello :) I’ve had a busy couple of days, I had physical therapy for my shoulder, a MRI, and a CT scan on Wednesday and last night I went to my high school’s band concert (the people who are seniors now were freshman when I graduated, I thought I would go see their last concert). Today I think I’m just going to hang out and relax and this weekend I might go to Chico to see my grandpa, but that’s still a tentative plan. On Monday, I have jury duty (again, I was called 2 years ago but wasn’t selected to be on a jury, I hope I don’t get put on a jury this time [I appreciate the judicial system, but I don't want to be involved in it, too much responsibility]). Depending on whether or not I have jury duty, I might walk dogs at the SPCA during the week to get me out of the house.

Today, I have my first Zoya polish to show you. I had a code for a free nail polish from Zoya so I ordered Chyna (a PixieDust polish) and I was not disappointed in my first Zoya. I knew I liked textured polish from the China Glaze, but Chyna brings the textured polish to a whole new level. I really liked that the texture was not obnoxious and super rough, but was present at the same time. The sparkle in Chyna was really pretty as well. I applied two coats of Zoya – Chyna over OPI Matte Nail Envy and that was it. The color reminded me of Dorothy’s slippers from The Wizard of Oz. That’s it from me today, I’ll be back on Monday. Thanks for reading!

China Glaze Texture – Itty, Bitty & Gritty

Hello :) My orthopedic doctor’s appointment on Monday went okay, although nothing got figured out; because, of course, I couldn’t reproduce the pain at the appointment. The doctor thinks it could be something like a snapping scapula from overuse/repetitive motion or the Bursa gets inflamed when I use it. So I have a physical therapy (to strengthen my shoulder muscles) appointment today at 9:20 and a MRI (to see if there is anything abnormal that could be causing the pain) scheduled for 7:45 tonight. Hopefully the physical therapy will work to make the shoulder and everything around it stronger and the MRI will rule out any abnormalities that could be present. Tonight is also my sister’s FFA award banquet at her high school (well, I went there too, but graduated three years ago) and she did her nails for the occasion, so I might have pictures of her nails later if she remembers to take a picture. I’ll be going to her award ceremony for a little bit, but I have to leave early to get to my doctor’s appointment.

Today’s nails are just a simple, but I like the color and the texture. I used China Glaze – Itty, Bitty & Gritty. As usual, I started with a coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – Itty, Bitty & Gritty. This was my first textured polish and I really liked it. The color is a pretty coral with texture to it, and while it was on, I found myself touching my nails because the texture was so interesting.

Paw Prints – Guess Who’s Back!

Hey everyone! I’m back! It’s been so weird not blogging for 2 or 3 weeks and trying to get back into it might be interesting haha, but I think once I get back into the swing of things I’ll be alright. I’m done with school for the year, so now it’s time to relax and take things easy. The end of the semester went well, I’ll be able to keep my GPA above a 3.0 (I’m still waiting on one more grade to be posted). I’m home now (in Elk Grove) and I’m realizing that I left stuff in Tucson (nothing super-important, but stuff I would like to have here). I was so excited to see my dogs when I got in on Saturday night and I think that they were excited to see me as well; Louis (my chihuahua) was whining and running around my like crazy until I got on the ground so he could see me. It’s strange not seeing my dogs everyday, Louis especially, he looks so tiny. I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing this summer, things are still up in the air with my shoulder (but I have an appointment today, so hopefully they will be able to figure out what’s wrong with my shoulder and can fix it). I’ll definitely be spending a lot of time with my dogs and hopefully relaxing. I’m kind of nervous for my appointment today because I’m not sure what will happen and I’m not sure they’ll be able to figure it out. But there’s no use worrying about it right now, I’ll just see what the appointment brings and go from there. I think I’ll stick to blogging on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays indefinitely (it’s much less stressful, and I get to enjoy my nails for a longer time).

I did these nails a while ago (I think I did them on April 28), but since I took a break from blogging, I obviously haven’t had a chance to post them yet. I had a “Pet-a-Puppy” event on April 30, so I decided to paint my nails with paw prints (I don’t really have a reason for choosing the colors that I did except that I wanted to use those colors and they were close, haha). I started with a coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy. I then applied two coats of China Glaze – Orange You Hot for my base color. I made paw prints with a dotting tool and China Glaze – Exotic Encounters. I topped that with Orly In a Snap

The next day, I got bored with my nails so I added some color changing glitter polish from Claire’s (it doesn’t have a name, but it changes from grey to “pink” – really a red color – when exposed to sunlight).

That’s it from me today, I’ll be back on Wednesday with more nails. Thanks for sticking with me!

Also, I did decide to dye my hair (it’s not as dark as it has been when I’ve dyed it previously, but I still like it).

One Lovely Blogger Award

Hello everyone! I was nominated for the One Lovely Blogger Award by Chelsea from Cuteberry Nails. Thanks Chelsea! I’ve already received this award, so I won’t be nominating anyone (I always have a hard time choosing and would probably end up picking most of the same people, which isn’t fair – but if you haven’t been nominated and would like this award, go for it! It’s always fun to learn things about other bloggers), but since it’s Dead Day (no classes, officially called “Reading Day”) I’m going to participate in the other parts of the award. Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you
  2. Add the “Very Inspiring”/”One Lovely Blog Award” image to your post
  3. Share 7 things about you
  4. Pass the award on to seven nominees
  5. Include this set of rules
  6. Inform your nominees by posting a comment on their blogs

7 Things About Me:

  1. I absolutely hate birds (I’m also afraid of them). When I was younger, a seagull stole a slice of pizza from my plate, and I haven’t liked them since. Yesterday, a stupid dove decided to sit on my window sill and succeeded in freaking me out.
  2. I like to color in coloring books when I’m bored or stressed out.
  3. I’m debating dying my hair brown again. I’m a natural blonde, but I get bored with it sometimes and like to change it up. The only things holding me back are the difficulty of going back to blonde if/when I decide to and my family prefers me with blonde hair. blonde63233_1380431769258_5321846_n
  4. I like to make lists of things I have to do, it keeps me organized (or at least I know what I’m procrastinating on).
  5. I’m usually multitasking (well, as best as I can), unless I really need to focus on a task.
  6. I haven’t changed my hairstyle since sophomore year of high school (well, I have less layers and my bangs are growing out, but the general idea is the same).
  7. I check my email a lot. Even when I’m not expecting messages. It’s usually one of the first things I do in the morning and one of the last things I do before I go to bed.

Thanks again Chelsea! Have a good day everyone!

April Polishes

Hey everyone! I’m feeling way better (I’m myself again, yay!), but finals are coming up, so I’m still going to be taking a break until I’m home around May 12(ish). I miss blogging though, and will be back when I can! I can’t believe that this month is already over (well, almost, but still). I have a week left of this semester and then in August, I’ll be starting my last year of college, it’s crazy how time flies. May will be interesting I think. On the 4th of May, I think I’m going to be going to the Pride of Arizona “Mini-Camp,” I want to go, but I’m not sure my shoulder will like me for it (more information about that below). My boyfriend and I will be driving to LA (where he’s from) on May 9th, and I’ll be staying there until I fly home on the 11th. Then I’ll get to see my dogs (I’ve been having serious dog withdrawals, haha)! And then on the 13th of May, I’m going to an orthopedic doctor for the first time to get my shoulder looked at; I’ve been to the regular doctor and the Emergency Room for it, but they can’t tell me what’s wrong with it and no pain medication they give me has helped (that makes marching super fun). I haven’t done anything to it (like fallen on it or been in an accident), it just started hurting during band camp my sophomore year of college (and it’s annoying, I play the piccolo, the smallest instrument and my shoulder is messed up); it feels like someone is sticking their hand underneath my shoulder blade, so hopefully this doctor can figure it out. And then on May 20th, I have Jury Duty (again); I had it two years ago in May, luckily I wasn’t picked, so  hopefully this time it will be the same. Hopefully I’ll get a job this summer, and if I can’t get a “real” job, hopefully I can get a job as a nanny. And if that doesn’t happen, I’ll continue to volunteer at the animal shelter.

I got 8 polishes this month:

  • China Glaze – Shower Together
  • OPI Matte Nail Envy
  • China Glaze Holographic – Cosmic Dust
  • Orly In A Snap
  • OPI – Can’t Find My Czechbook (full size)
  • Claire’s – Pink Glow in the Dark
  • Claire’s – Sun Changing (Grey/Red)
  • China Glaze Texture – Itty, Bitty & Gritty

The polishes I ordered this month, but don’t have yet because they’re getting sent to my house in Elk Grove.

  • Lucky 13 Lacquer – Hey, Who Turned Out the Lights?
  • Zoya – Chyna
  • Zoya – Arizona
  • Zoya – Reagan
  • Zoya – Sarah
  • Zoya – Avery
  • Zoya – FeiFei
  • Zoya – Charla

Well, that’s it from me for a while. I hope you all have a great day/week! If you have finals, good luck! Thank everyone!

Just so you know…

Hey everyone! I haven’t really been feeling like myself lately, the end of the semester is coming and I think I’m homesick (for the first time in college) and I haven’t really been having good luck with my nails the past couple days. So I’m going to be taking a break from blogging. I’m not sure how long I will be gone for and I may post spontaneously until I’m back for sure, but I just wanted to let you all know that I’m not abandoning my blog. I’ll be at home the evening of May 11, so hopefully I’ll be posting regularly again the week of May 12. Also, WordPress is still behaving so I’ll be staying here (will not be moving to blogger/blogspot).  Thank you all for your support, I appreciate all my followers. Here’s some pictures haha.
